Online WOrkshop Series

Owner, Melanie Shaw, will be demonstrating various hand building and surface techniques in  an

ongoing multi-week online workshop series. The workshops are meant to be demonstration workshops rather than “work-along” workshops. Users will be able to ask questions in real-time during the workshop. Sign up for one at a time or for the whole series.

You’ll receive an online Zoom link to login live to the workshop 1 day prior to each workshop.

We’ll work on various topics throughout the series, for example:

Bisque molds: how to make a bisque mold to create a hand built form
Hand building: making slab built items, tips and tricks
Surface design: Transferring a design onto leather hard surface or on bisque surface
Underglazes: Opaque to watercolor layering, using multiple underglazes in a painterly fashion
Surface Textures: Sgraffito, impressions, making bisque stamps
Layering: how to incorporate patterns and texture with slips, underglazes, stencils

You will receive a link for the workshop recording approximately 2 days after the live event to work along to at your own pace. The recording will be available to your for one month after the live event.
