Sculpture Class

A five week class that covers the traditional skills of creating ceramic sculpture by hand. Pinching, coil building and slabs will be used in the processes; taking a student from raw clay to finished sculpture in five sessions. Students will make and

build a bust or a full figure,  including decorating during the greenware stage.  Students will also make a small, simple maquette for testing purposes. Full Figure sculptures will be limited to the height of the kilns in use. Decorating with slips, underglazes, oxides and glazes will also be covered. Students will have access to Open Studio times to continue to build and refine sculptures.

Students should bring a sketch notebook to classes to prepare and decorate their creations.

Registration and Refund Policies:

• Tuition is due in full at time of registration.
• Workshops with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled and participant will be moved to next session.
• Workshop registrants must be a minimum age of 14.
• Art Off Center reserves the right, if necessary to cancel the workshop due to unforeseen circumstances. Participant workshop fees will be fully refunded.
• Art Off Center can not be held responsible for travel arrangements.
