🎨✨ Surface Development: Level Up Your Clay Game ✨🎨

Ready to stop making “nice pots” and start making statement pieces? This 5-week intermediate class is all about transforming your clay surfaces from basic to bold.

Each week, we’ll dive into a new decorating technique and actually play with it — experimenting, layering, and pushing your ideas further. Think of this class as your surface lab.

You’ll explore:
• Slips & slip trailing
• Underglazes (because color matters)
• Oxides for depth and drama
• Underglaze transfer papers
• Lamination
• Sprigs & applied elements
• And a few extra tricks we can’t resist sharing

Throughout the session, you’ll build toward a final piece that combines your favorite techniques into one cohesive, portfolio-worthy

work.

📓 Bring a sketchbook! We’ll brainstorm, test ideas, and plan your surfaces before they ever hit the kiln.

This class is perfect for students who’ve completed a hand building or wheel class and are ready to move beyond form and focus on design, storytelling, and surface magic.

Registration and Refund Policies:

• Tuition is due in full at time of registration.
• Workshops with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled and participant will be moved to next session.
• Workshop registrants must be a minimum age of 14.
• Art Off Center reserves the right, if necessary to cancel the workshop due to unforeseen circumstances. Participant workshop fees will be fully refunded.
