Art Off Center offers a variety of workshops, single event classes, multi-week wheel throwing, hand building and sculpture pottery classes to fit your schedule, so there’s plenty of opportunity to experience clay at your convenience. AOC is conveniently located in Taylor, Texas, on the northeast side of Austin, so we’re a short trip from Round Rock, Georgetown, Rockdale and Elgin. Artists can undertake building by hand as well as use the pottery wheel depending on the class selected. Above all, these classes will help beginners, complete novices or regular mudslingers learn how to use clay equipment, decoration and glazing. Ceramics is often a test of will power.  It has a steep learning curve and there are lots of ways for artwork to not turn out as expected.  Please be open to learning and try to accept that this is a challenging medium to control.
